Jeg købte i dag aktivt kul “Norit” på et apotek (Godthåbsvejens apotek på Frederiksberg). Pakken (pris 75 kr) indeholder 30 kapsler. Hver kapsel indeholder 200 mg aktivt kul. Anvisningen på pakken er “som supplement til diæt ved akut diarre”. “Dosering 3-4 kapsler (altså op til 0,8 mg) ad gangen, højst 12 kapsler (altså 2,4 gram) dagligt. “Bør ikke anvendes til børn under 15 år uden lægens anvisninger”.
Men i forbindelse med forgiftninger (f.eks. med Grøn Fluesvamp, Amanita phalloides) skal voksne gives ½ (-1) gram aktivt kul pr. kg kropsvægt, gentaget hver 4.-6. time (til en samlet dosis på 300 gram pr. dag). Gram, ikke milligram! (Dvs. 50 gram aktivt kul til en voksen, der vejer 100 kg, givet hver ca. 4.-5. time i f.eks. 3 dage; eller 25 gram hver 2. time eller 12,5 gram hver time). Typisk vil man f.eks. give aktivt kul i en dosis på 50 gram hver 6. time (4 gange pr. dag) i 3 dage.

René Flammer angiver i sin bog "Giftpilze" (2014), at man i Tyskland bruger disse dosis-anbefalinger ved forgiftninger med Grøn Fluesvamp, Amanita phalloides:
• Voksne gives ½ (-1)* gram aktivt kul pr. kg kropsvægt, gentaget hver 4.-6. time (til en samlet dosis på 300 gram pr. dag). (Dvs. 50 gram aktivt kul til en voksen, der vejer 100 kg, givet hver ca. 4.-5. time i f.eks. 3 dage; eller 25 gram hver 2. time eller 12,5 gram hver time).

Today, I bought active coal "Norit" at a pharmacy (Godthåbsvej's pharmacy in Frederiksberg, Denmark). The package (price 75 DKK) contains 30 capsules. Each capsule contains 200 mg of activated charcoal. The instruction on the package is "in addition to diet at acute diarrhea". However, in connection with poisoning (eg with the mushroom Death Cap, Amanita phalloides) adults should be given ½ (-1) grams of activated charcoal per. kg body weight, repeated every 4 to 6. hour (for a total dose of 300 grams per day). Gram, not milligram!
That is 50 (-100) grams of activated charcoal for an adult weighing 100 kg, given every 4 to 5 hours for example 3 days; or 25 grams every 2 hours or 12.5 grams per hour.
Typically, for example, activated charcoal should be given at a dose of 50 grams every 6 hours (4 times per day) for 3 days.
THE "Maximum 12 Capsules Daily" IS ONLY 2.4 GRAM (12 x 200 mg) OF ACTIVATED CHARCOAL, BUT UP TO 300 GRAM OF ACTIVATED CHARCOAL PER DAY IS NEEDED
THAT IS 125 TIMES MORE THAN "HIGHEST DOSAGE" ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE NORIT PACKAGE 2.4 GRAM PER DAY WILL HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT
THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE NORIT PACKAGE ARE THEREFORE POTENTIALLY LIFE HAZARDOUS
René Flammer states in his book "Giftpilze" (2014) that in Germany the dosage recommendations for poisonings with Amanita phalloides is:
• Adults are given ½ (-1) * gram of activated charcoal per kg body weight, repeated every 4 to 6. hour (up to a total dose of 300 grams per day). (that is 50 (-100) grams of activated charcoal for an adult weighing 100 kg, given every 4 to 5 hours for example 3 days; or 25 grams every 2 hours or 12.5 grams per hour).
